I too am a huge fan of Johnny Cash. So much so that I started a Johnny Cash Tribute Bnad called, "California's Cash Only Band". We do all of his big hits and countless others. Johnny was one of a kind and I very well know that he can not be replaced. However, performing for Cash fans in itself is very rewarding. You cannot believe how many people love Johnny Cash of all ages. I enjoyed your site here and will check back periodically to view others comments on the Man in Black. I've posted our url below for those who would like to check out my band. Thank you! Sincerely, Jack Azbill and California's Cash Only Band.

Whoa! How does this post not have any comments?

I love JC, too. I grew up in Hendersonville, TN, so I used to see him at church on Sundays, including the year he sang to his mother on her birthday with our choir.

I also saw him at Baskin Robbins, getting out of his black Jag to grab himself a cone of the good stuff. I was in highschool and was sitting outside on the pink chairs with some of my friends. I waived and said "hello." He thundered back, "Hello, boys."

I used to jump off the cliffs in his back yard into Old Hickory Lake. I always expected to get in trouble for trespassing, but he never seemed to mind our enjoying his property. We called it "Cash's Cliffs."

My Dad once waited to pick up some developed photos at K-Mart with June Carter, and they couldn't get any service. June went behind the counter and started helping herself to the drawers to find their pictures while my old man played "look out." They laughed about it all the way up to the checkout line.

Thanks for bringing back some good memories. I'm glad I saw him live before he died.
