After the unfortunate events in Athens last night, I thought about making the MP3 of the week a mournful dirge for my Dawgs. But while listening through the options today this one, which is sort of the polar opposite of a dirge got me feeling pretty good despite being overtired and Spurriered.

“Our days are numbered so let’s celebrate/I lived the best day of my life today.”

I know nothing about Eugene Francis Jnr - no Wikipedia, no record company or official site other than a fairly annoying MySpace page. He appears to be Welsh and formerly of a band called Dirty Perfect. What I know is that this is a cracking indie pop song with a youthful optimism that certainly turned my Sunday around. Have a listen and enjoy.

“My your light shine/Liberate minds/I favor tigers but I celebrate cowards/Don’t want a world where religion is power.

The “Poor Me” 7-inch is available from Amazon.
