Variety being the spice of life and inspired by Arizaphale’s foray last week I’ve decided to forsake Wordless Wednesday for Best Shot Monday. Seems that the idea is more or less the same – share one of your favorite photos from the week – but with a slightly different crowd.
This weekend we took Z to his first Water Babies class. My biggest concern before the class was that I would be the only Dad in the pool. As it turned out, I felt a bit sorry for the one Mum in the pool. Z seemed to enjoy it, though he rarely took his hand out of his mouth and got a bit tired toward the end of the class. Z’s Papa had a great time!
While tooling around the pool with Z in tow I got to thinking about the album cover for Nirvana’s “Nevermind”. I always found it slightly disturbing for a number of reasons, but mostly because in the pre-Photo Shop days I never could figure how they kept that baby from drowning – now I know. I spent a good part of the class with “In Bloom” in my head:
“Sell the kids for food
Weather changes moods
Spring is here again
Pray for darker grounds….”

Oh how fun! I love how fearless babies are in the water. Isn’t it weird how they know to hold their breath like that? VERY CUTE picture of little Zach. (and Nevermind was one of my favorite albums back in the day).

I always admired the dads in our baby swim class. Nowadays, Dad is the only one the girls want in the pool. Adorable Zach.

I love that you got to take Zach to his lesson. So many dads miss out on these great moments. My dh usually ends up being the only dad at the birthday parties. His take on it is why should he miss out on it, ya know?

Haha. I love how Natalie always calls it MBS! (My Best Shot????)
Great shot in the pool Chris. this was one of my fave things when the BA was little. I had to conquer a significant amount of my own fear to do it too. I succeeded as she is now VERY comfortable in the water and frequently points out my inadequacies. (ungrateful child).
btw: your hips look like mine in this shot.

I will miss you on WW, but this looks like fun also. Glad you had such a good time with Zach learning to swim. I remember that from when mine were little. It was a blast.
