The Bible Black Pre-Dawn
It’s never as bad as you think it’s going to be.
No part of our trip, from our pre-dawn departure from Sweden in blowing snow to our pre-dawn walk on the beach 32 hours later, was a lot of fun. Neither was it the disaster that it could have been when we got of the ground an hour late on the first leg of the trip or when the flaps failed before take-off from Gatwick. It was long and stressful and rarely comfortable, but it was OK. And Baby Z, as usual, handled it with an aplomb that is foreign to at least one of his parents.
And early this morning, walking the beach before sunrise with Dr. O’C and Baby Z it was a far sight better than OK. It was damn near perfect. I don’t remember the last time that I was on the Atlantic Ocean watching the sun come up. I would be willing to wager, however, that whenever it was I was still up from the night before and probably not as appreciative of my situation. The gray half-light along the slatey Atlantic was indescribable this morning and it was warm and breezy, as were we.
Maybe it’s the jet lag talking, but Florida’s got something going for it.

I thought you called Zach “Baby Zit” until I re-read it. Thought the poor guy had a new nickname.
Woulda been fun.
I’m so glad you made it to FL safely. Too bad it’s a good ten hours from us, or we’d have to meet you guys for a drink.

If you don’t count the bugs, Florida has a lot going for it.

GORGEOUS PHOTO. My gosh.
I’m not surprised Zach is a good traveler. He’s, like, a good EVERYTHING.
Sorry for my overuse of the ALLCAPS. Must be one of those days.

Hihi,
Are you traveling around the world> Is Australia your home base? Are you lucky or what.
Zach is very fortunate to have such a loving adoring father. Try to remember these days when he goes to borrow your car.
And when you are weeping in gratitude when you get a call from hospital, find out he has totaled your car, yet he and everyone else, is okay.
I’m confused. Your wife is the gorgeous woman in the bikini in the Oremond beach picture? Zach is your son? You and her son? The dark girl, Taylor?, who is she?
I always thought it would be the height of luxury to travel with a mother’s help. You play with Zach and she does the rest.
