That is one dirty baby in the last pic! Did you give him a “smash cake”? That’s always my favorite part of 1st birthday parties. Looks like he had lots of fun.

SSG – Not scared of the balloons. Title is from the song. Bird cake was slightly ironic considering our current war with the Avian races.
Aish – he didn’t actually enjoy it all that much, but we did!
JK – I’ve no idea what a smash cake is, but I gave him a big old wad of chocolate to destroy. Until his Mum took it away – big meany.
Headbang – I believe that you’ve got the i.d. right and even the flavor of beverage. I wouldn’t like to comment regarding strength of character. Unfortunately her beau was not in attendance. Would have been welcome as he is apparently, at least in part, a children’s entertainer.
Nichole – temporary storage (boy and balloons) only.
Courtney – thanks, he gets his good looks from me.

I love the little hand poking through the crib stuffed silly with balloons. Izzy’s birthday is coming up mid-October and I can’t wait to see her tear into a piece of cake. Thanks for the preview of what’s to come.
