Some very dear friends of mine have an autistic son. He can actually communicate, which makes him a great candidate for some of the studies that are taking place at the University of Michigan (yay, go Blue), and Western Michigan University. I really wish I could remember the name of the study they're in right now. It studies the genetics of mom and dad, and how it affects the DNA of child. Really amazing stuff.
