agnes–once i was trying to leave a comment on my own blog and it wouldn’t accept it and it turned out it was because it didn’t like the world “huffington,” which refers to a political website called “the huffington post.” it thought it was spam! very weird and i never could have predicted it.

Ariza – Yep. Do. Especially on the eve of my least favorite holiday.

Siren – Work sucks.

Angel – Santa wasn’t great for me, but Zach did all right.

Mickey – I used to do debate in school.

COurtney – It grew about 28%.

Prefers – It’s only partially dedicated to the intricacies of the indie rock scene.

Jill – I think that is exactly the same thing. The Austin Lounge Lizards are awesome.

Father Muskrat – It was OK.

Kitty – Another Adelaider! Welcome. We weren’t hear last year, but that’s a shame because it sounds like a great show! Oh, and the Boxing Day test is exactly my thing.

MJRC – That Xmas song is just perfect. Glad you’re seeing the OR light.

Agnes – I can kind of see the Cash aspect to Lost Coastlines, but not the Elvis. I don’t know why you got moderated. Weird.

mjrc – Yes!! Our job is done…
Was playing Okkervil to a friend the other day and he described ‘Lost Coastlines’ as a cross between Johnny Cash and Elvis. He then informed me that ‘On Tour With Zykos’ sounded like a ‘bad theme song to a 70’s sitcom.’ Needless to say I informed him that he was not fit to listen and turned it off.

I’m so glad you do not feel the same way!

And Chris, you already know how I feel about these guys. Looking forward to checking out the top 2!

speaking as a person who has found the run-up to christmas to be more and more of a chore these past few years, this year went remarkably well (we still have to eat the big dinner, but i think it’ll be fine).

i really hate the feeling of “having to get through it,” tho. i wish i could look forward to it more. however, i am sighing a big sigh of relief that it’s over and for the next 11 months i really don’t have to think about it. : )

p.s. love, love, love that okkervil river song about otis redding. you and agnes are making me into a o.r. convert.

Did you see OR at St Jerome’s last year? Having them and Arcade Fire in the one summer was bliss.
Enjoy the beach, stay out of the sun, and catch the boxing day test. Oh yeah…. probably not your thing!
