I wasn’t planning to post today, but I couldn’t abide looking at the photo of those McDonald’s kids at the top of my page all weekend long. Not only, as Alice pointed out, is it basically child abuse but one of my big fears as a parent. So, here’s some photos of summer in Oz with my own little summertime cowboy.

Beautiful! Much better than the pics of gay men I’ve got on my blog today.
be honest. you posted those pics to make us feel jealous. Didn’t you? DIDN’T YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’d much rather see Boy Z than that creepy McDonalds kid. That last picture is awesome.
as usual, I’m envious in many ways.
I’m so jealous right now. The weather is totally crappy here in Pennsylvania.
Also, I don’t have your email to reply to your comment on my blog, but yeah- being a girl is hard!
It’s not that I look so awful, it’s just that I’m so out of shape and fluffy lately. Blah! I get winded putting Jake in the carseat these days!
Is the sky that stunningly blue there all the time?
Z is much cuter than those fatass McDonald’s kids.
Oh, look at those colors. And the sun!
I am so, so very done having kids. But those little, chubby legs, unburdened by ankles…I think my ovaries just twinged.
I can’t tell you how thrilled I am to see Timmons on the beach with all the people!
There is only one beach in all of Bradenton, FL (where we spend some time every year, visiting family) that allows animals. As you might imagine, it’s in tough shape — not only because every animal in the area has to use that one small beach, but also because the powers that be didn’t choose the choicest real estate as an offering to the animals to begin with (it’s on the intercoastal waterway, so there’s no surf, and there’s a busy high-speed road nearby, so there’s no margin for behavioral error).
It’s very frustrating, as the friend of a very well-behaved and clean dog, to be exiled to that one patch of beach.
Wouldn’t it be funny of that photo turned out to be from a McDonald’s in the Netherlands?
And nice photos. The sun is shining here today as well and, after reading one more blog, I intend to go out and enjoy it.
Izzy and Z, sitting is a tree k-i-s-s-i, wait I mean solving world hunger and pushing the envelope on work with the humane genome….wait did I say that out loud. Is selective breeding wrong?
You guys have a good looking kid there. Izzy’s just a little bit younger than Z and oh my is it not getting more and more fun every day?
Why would this be a fear of yours? You can’t possibly imagine that your beautiful boy would wind up like that, do you? It would take a level of neglect that you are not capable of.
Hmmm…I’m not sure that’s better than the “snuggie” pics I posted.
However, it’s way better than baby michelin from the other post.
Were you ambivalent during the BCS championship game last night (Easter time), like I was? I guess I’m glad FL won. Maybe.
Have a good weekend, AFM!
Gorgeous ocean pictures! And Boy Z is yummy! He almost makes me want another kid – almost! (I love kids, but man, I hated the baby years)
It’s been a good week hasn’t it? But goodness there’s some chunky photographers on the beach in that last photo. I’ve been posting photos too. Hope you don’t mind featuring more un-anonymously….they were such nice shots. Those of your readers who think Z is cute should come and see him over at my place
Wait. I think I just discovered a way to increase my blog traffic…………
Also, I am very concerned about your post title. I have been watching Brokeback Mountain recently.
As a loyal reader I would like to thank you for bumping those McD’s kids down a notch. Your family is much nicer to look at!
yes, thank you. these photos are way less disturbing
Crap, I’m green. Envy. It looks lovely.
He truly is so cute.
I think I’ve always proclaimed I like the mountains better than the beach because I’m terrified if I ever stay near a beach long enough, I won’t leave.
Awesome pics, hon! If I ever, ever, ever make it down there (one can dream, can’t she?), as soon as I get off that plane, take me to that beach, dang it!
Oh yeah those pictures are WAY better than the McDonalds boys. Poor things. That last picture with the ball & the hat is SO CUTE!!!!!
thank you for sharing your pictures, it is cold and snowing here so your post was like a mini vacation with smiles. Your son is so adorable. Hope you have a good weekend.
love the ferris wheel
Courtney – Yes, it actually is.
Alice – The beaches here are great for dogs. Most of them allow dogs on lead and there are a number that allow them off lead for certain hours or even all day. Awesome.
Mickey – Good point, no evidence that it’s in the USA.
Chris – We’d be better off doing some selective breeding. Nothing in the world wrong with arranged marriage.
TUB – I’m beginning to realize that you would have to be extremely stupid or negligent to have your kid turn out that way, but I just have a fear that I’m going to screw it up somehow on the food front.
Ariza – Your photos were great!
Your pictures really make me long for the day that Tyler holds my hand and leads ME somewhere.
I know this isn’t your most recent post, but I’ve been hearing about the fires in Australia and am worried that you and your family are affected by that. Post something so we all know you’re safe!
