If you decide to go ahead, you will need to nail down the terms. Will you have a real contract/work agreement? And if so, will it be per project, or for a certain period of time, or..? Mostly, I'd say to follow your heart - your gut feeling about the situation. And as one of my old mentors used to chant whenever I was tussling with some decision, "If you hesitate, the answer is 'no'." Good luck to you.
