I’ve had this song in my head all day and it featured as our antenatal music for the evening. It was a winner. Little tiny dancing feet.
Pretty great video as well…
A Free Fetus likes it. Boy Z likes it. Dr. O’C likes it. Lest you think it’s just a family favorite, Courtney likes it. You’ll like it too.
Frank Turner is one of my favorite up and coming British artists. Turner’s back in the studio working on his third full-length album, “Poetry of the Deed”. But until that one is released, if you like “Photosynthesis” and you’re in the market for some new music you should really consider buying “Love, Ire and Song”. Great album by a great artist who isn’t getting the attention he deserves.

I love that entire album. In fact, I owe you a debt of gratitude for introducting me to a lot of new music — I’m also digging Frightened Rabbit, Mates of State and The Hold Steady.
A Free Fetus = awesome. Less than 100 days to go, woo-hoo!

Now Chris, you know I like you and think you have great taste in music, but Paul McCartney he ain’t.
Thank god.
No, seriously, I was of course a Lennon fan, but Lennon wasn’t touring (he was baking bread and trying to find his muse), and I must admit that seeing McCartney oh so long ago and hearing him play the one Beatle song, the only one he would play back then, the one that all the Japanese sing in karaoke, “Yesterday,” and even though it’s a lame song, just standing close to the stage and hearing his solo acoustic sound ring through the stadium I realized there’s Mozart and Beethoven–both gone, and that leaves one truly great (in a cultural/historical former Beatle context) living artist and this artist was singing his heart out just a few feet from me. And it was like, WOW.
So here you have me defending Wings. But really, standing in front of someone like that doesn’t happen very often.

I love it. When I was a kid in Catholic school we had a young Irish (of course) priest who played guitar and sang. This guy reminded me of Father Name-I-forget.

I like it! Hope you have a good Memorial Day weekend (assuming you celebrate, just for the hell of it, over “yonder”)!
