Tom Petty has always been on the fringe for me. He brushes by me when I’m not paying attention, and I feel like I’ve missed out on something but just can’t grasp it. Thanks for bringing him into focus tonight. I may have to add him into the rotation tomorrow.

Did Tom Petty do “Come up and See Me”? That’s the only one I remember. 1989 was a big year for me too. My first ‘real job’ as a teacher-in-charge at Booligal. The year I met the BA’s dad. The year I broke my kneecap. The soundtrack of that year for me included; The Bangles:Eternal Flame, Wilson Phillips: Release Me, The Fine Young Cannibals: She Drives me Crazy,
Black Sorrows:Chained To The Wheel and the soundtrack of Crossroads. I don’t remember Tom Petty even releasing an album that year. Maybe I was listening to the wrong radio stations by then?
