Boy Z demonstrates what we do with hogs down here in the deep, deep south…

It’s the Dawgs versus the Hogs today as the Georgia Bulldogs head into Fayetteville for a match-up with the Arkansas Razorbacks. It’s been a while since these two teams squared off – 2005 in Athens (a 23-2o win for the Dawgs) – and I’m not sure what to expect from the game. The Razorbacks have played one and won one – a glorified scrimmage against Missouri State. The Dawgs have been spotty thus far, with moments of brilliance being pretty well canceled out by moments of utter incompetence. Let’s hope for more of the former this week.
I can’t dig up that much vitriol for Arkansas. Like most SEC West teams, they haven’t done enough to deserve visceral hatred from a Dawg fan. Truth be told, I’ve got a bit of a soft spot for the Piggies. But, my porcine friends, y’all stand in the way of a winning record. It’s business, not personal.
Jacob is our Dawg gear superstar this week, coming through with Boy Z’s hog smacking ensemble as well as one for the littlest Dawg in Oz:

Not bad for a Tech fan. Maybe we’re winning him over to the light side.
Kickoff is at 7:45 p.m. Eastern (9:15 a.m. Sunday in Adelaide). I’ve got to tell you, I like these night games. It beats waking up at 2:oo a.m. for a 12:30 kick.
Go Dawgs!
UPDATE:
Bacon. Who needs defense?

It’s funny that I live about 60 miles from Athens, have neighbors with kids at UGA and yet this is my only source of Georgia football.

That is quite the look of existential horror on Not Max’s face as he realizes his parents (oops, sorry Sinead, his Dad) had dressed him to look like a carnie working the tilt-a-whirl at a county fair somewhere south of Macon.

All this smack talk definitely makes me WANT to watch Georgia games… but I’ve already got my fill scheduled with Michigan, Michigan State (blech), and I can’t remember the last one.
Good luck!

Jamie – They’re showing the UF-UT game live down here. I’m currently using it as a metaphor on the lesser of two evils for Zach.
Either Tennessee is better than everyone thought or Florida is worse. Here’s hoping the latter.

Hey, it was ugly but a win is a win. At least they won against their hillbilly opponent, which UGA cannot yet say as of this writing.

Cute picture.
Let’s hope you have more luck than the sad and sorry Pies last night. I didn’t think we’d win, but I sure didn’t expect to be flogged.
Now throwing my support behind Geelong. Even though they thrashed us last night, I sure as hell don’t want St. Kilda to win. Shudder.

Jamie, we both know that Angry Urban wanted to put 50 on the Vols, so a win by 10 is almost a loss.

dressed him to look like a carnie working the tilt-a-whirl at a county fair somewhere south of Macon — Jamie, I’ll be chucking all weekend thinking of that. (Not Max makes an extra realistic carnie do to his lack of teeth)

Halftime–this game is pretty awesome…but no defense on either side. Have you ever been to a game in Fayetteville? It’s a great little college town.

HIF – No defense at all. That’s disturbing.
Beth – I don’t know why, stupid TV revenue I guess. But what about those of us listening on the radio?

Oh wait! I do know something about sports after all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When I lived in Little Rock I used to be able to hear the Razorback’s games from inside our house. We’d hear the cheering from outside the house & then like a second later it would start on the TV. We were for the Longhorns in my family though, not that I really realized it at the time. Good luck!

Cat – Do you ever go over to Athens? Pretty little town.
Technobabe – “Enjoying” is not quite the right word.
Joe – Michigan is looking OK this year.
Courtney – You’ll be next.
Muskrat – I think Bama will beat the Piggies handily. Y’all have a bit of defense, which is all it takes. We have none.
NATUI – Only one game a week and UT-UF has been the first one worth watching.
Agnes – I saw some of that ‘game’. Painful to watch.
Cat – Sorry, we need to restate the rules here. You don’t take the side of a Florida fan under any circumstances.
HIF – Never been to Fayetteville at all. Only been to Arkansas once. I was underwhelmed.
Beth – Got to pay the rent, I guess.
FGIS – A bit of both.
Jill – Well, there you go.
SeattleDad – I was thrilled to see UW beat USC. I’m just tired of USC always being a preseason Top 5. Then they always choke. Yawn. Good on the Huskies, though.
Rassles – Thanks.
MJRC – Funny, that.
Jud – Hey, Auburn won. That’s something after last year! And the Dawgs? Well, a win’s a win and we’ll take it. I don’t think we’re going to be able to score 50 in every game, though, so need to find some D.
