Oh that Christmas Card from a Hooker ***is*** nice! I didn’t grow up with Christmas and don’t celebrate it, but there is a lot of Christmas music that I like.

I think I would enjoy Christmas more if I had kids. But I’m not going to have them just to enjoy Christmas more.

Hey AFM! Long time, no nothin’!

I’m glad you are getting all Christmas-y this year. Well, as Christmas-y as AFM gets, anyway. My kids favorite song this year is called “Jingle Farts.” I’m sure you can guess what it sounds like. That and anything by the Transiberian Orchestra are all they want to hear right now. It’s wearin’ me a little thin, and I love Christmas!

Your son looks so adorable trimming the tree! Having kids really does change Christmas in a big way. Liv is 4 this year and it seems like she is much more invested in the whole Santa mythology and all the traditions than she ever was before. It’s very exciting. Maybe more so for me because my family didn’t celebrate Christmas growing up. I guess I’m living the holiday through her. About the Christmas music, I’m more into the slower, sadder songs for sure, though I don’t consider myself a scrooge. I love Oh Holy Night, Silent Night, Hark the Herald Angels sing…I guess I like the religious Christmas music which is odd because I’m not really all that religious.

Anyway, I hope you have a wonderful, magical Christmas with your beautiful family!

Now that I’ve got one of two kids that can understand what’s going on around her, I’ve been trying to make this time of the year an opportunity to re-focus on family. If there’s anything I can teach Ella and Kyle, it’s that you need to occasionally need to recharge your family battery so to speak. Hopefully that line of thinking can help minimize all the other less palatable aspects of the Christmas/holiday season.

Santa’s Magic Cave? That’s too funny. I guess you have to be creative about things like Santa’s home when you live in a place where it’s warm during Christmas.

If you wait til Tuesday or Wednesday we could come to the Magic Cave with you. I went to the Magic Cave as a kid and it holds strong emotional memories of Christmas for me. And yes, I did take the BA when she was young too. Our favourite Christmas music is the Mariah Carey album which we play unfailingly whilst putting up the tree. On repeat. Much to Himself’s disgust.
