To those of you shoveling snow or scraping the ice off your windshield or grieving the meteorological predictions of an amphibious rodent I have one thing to say:
Suck it, Northern Hemisphere losers.

February rocks!
Now when you manage to get out of your parkas and your fingers thaw, go and check out my post on The Greenists today. It’s an extension of our conversation about whaling.

Ah, just be quiet. Dang, these pictures are absolutely nothing like what we are still seeing here out the window and every time we bundle up to go outside. White snow, piles of it.

That’s windscreen, mate.
Don’t mention the misery of 40 degree (celsius) heatwaves in February, of course.
But seriously, you guys look like you’re turning into beach-heads. Two surfer-dudes in the making?

You bastard!!!
This time last year I was there on the beach in the heat. And now – well, now I am not. I was feeling glum enough about that without anyone else rubbing my nose in it, you know. Just you wait till it is summer here and raining where you are? I’m sure we can all get our own back!
Enjoy!

You know, seeing as I shoveled snow yesterday, I do believe that wasn’t very nice of you.
Sigh, nice pictures.

Ehh. I’ve only had to wear long sleeves at tennis practice once this week. Yesterday was shorts and a T-shirt even though I didn’t play with the kids. February is the best month of the year where I live. I like cool weather and there’s still some of that, but this is the month where the first flowers start blooming (the Jonquils/Daffodils usually bloom on my birthday, although they may have drowned this year) and for most of it, my allergies haven’t had time to act up yet.
You can have your stupid summer. I don’t like the beach except in places where the water would be lethally cold to swim. Seriously, if I lived in Alaska or Maine, I’d go for the house on the beach. Southern Cal or Florida, I’d find somewhere else shadier.

Arrrgggg! Seven inches of snow due overnight on Friday. Come Saturday morning, I’ll be shoveling. Curse you, you rotten transplant! Where’s my place in the sun? Where’s my warm afternoon?

Ugh. You’re now one of *those* people who are always so smug about how warm it is where they are, be it where they live or where they are on vacation, and reinforce the smugness by sending postcards and posting pictures of themselves frolicking in the sun and sand, as if to say “Look at me! Sun equals happiness! You miserable snow-bound, rain-trapped losers!”
In other words: shut it.

Technobabe – At some point in the future I’ll probably start to miss snow.
Dr. O’C – Ah well, that’s life.
Headbang – We’ve had surprisingly few of those this year. So far.
Reluctant – Well, even winter here is often nicer than summer in the UK.
Andrea – No. It wasn’t.
Jacob – If you’re not going to play by the rules, then I think you should just stay on the sidelines.
TUB – Come over, you can sit on my deck.
Courtney – It is.
SciFi – Screw you, Cartman.
Clint – No, it’s right.
MS – It is.
NS – I’ve always been one of those people, I just try and keep it in check.
Nathan – Yes, but in July it will be in the 50s/60s here and it will be 90 with 90% humidity where you are.
Allie – Now that’s not very nice.
Courtney – I have no response to that.

Oh my gosh I can’t stand February! It’s like, even though it’s short, it drags on forever.
And because winter in Houston is never cold enough or long enough for me to feel justified in buying a true winter wardrobe, I’m sooooooooo sick of my measly selection of long sleeve shirts by then.
So I’m staying at your place next February. I’m sure they can get me a long term sub. Also, gorgeous, gorgeous pictures as always!

Meh, I’m in Central California. I’m not allowed – by order of my my nor’eastern friends – to discuss “weather” … because we don’t have any here, according to them. Yeah, “winter” here is pretty much just cooler temps, gray skies and the occasional rain.
BTW, did you see this?

Oh, that’s funny.
Being from a tropical country, I long for winter and gaze enviously at Washington DC with their foot-deep snowfalls. My friends call me masochistic, but try living in a country that’s hot and humid 365 days a year!
Wait … some people may think that’s heaven.

We had 27 inches over the weekend, and now they are predicting another 10-20 inches today and tomorrow. Hubbie had to take a suitcase to work to stay there because the trains are going to shut down today. I’m loving the white stuff, but those beach pis look awesome!

Those photos makes me feel a little bit confused. Pictures are great and are showing sunny and warm place, really beautiful. And that makes me think more positive. But then I look outside window and see snow and people covered in warm clothes… And that makes me feel sad…

Can any Republicans who consider themselves smart explain how Bushes TARP was NOT Socialism? Can any of you assure me, regardless of what your Party Articulates it believes in and has for however long, I should trust a sole word of it after experiencing continued deficit expenditure under your politicians? I let off Reagan from this – the Eastern Bloc needed to be beaten and I think he’s the only leader of the last 50 years who had a sound excuse for it and as I see it we broke their backs economically. But since then?
